Meet Feo
Meet Feo: Your Friendly Guide to Fiji’s Elections
As Fiji steps into a new era of civic engagement, the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) is proud to introduce a fresh and friendly face to help guide voters through the electoral process. His name is Feo, short for the Fijian Electoral Officer—and he’s more than just a mascot. Feo is a symbol of trust, fairness, and participation.
We sat down with Feo for an exclusive interview to learn more about his role and what he hopes to bring to the people of Fiji.
Q: Bula Feo! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Feo:
Bula Vinaka! I’m Feo—your civic-minded companion on all things elections. I represent the values at the heart of the Fijian Elections Office: integrity, transparency, and accessibility. My mission is to make the electoral process clear, welcoming, and empowering for every Fijian—whether you’re voting for the first time or the fifth.
Q: What exactly is your role in the electoral process?
Feo:
I’m here to be your guide and helper. I explain how elections work, where to find information, and why your vote matters. You’ll see me across the FEO website, social media, printed materials, and even at community events. Think of me as your go-to source for simple, trustworthy, and engaging election info.
Q: Why do you think Fiji needs a mascot like you?
Feo:
Because democracy works best when everyone feels included. Sometimes elections can seem complicated or intimidating—I’m here to change that. I bring warmth, clarity, and a bit of fun to the process. My goal is to ensure no one feels left out, especially young voters, rural communities, and anyone who’s unsure about how it all works.
Q: What makes you different from other mascots?
Feo:
I’m not just here to entertain—I’m here to educate and empower. I embody the FEO’s commitment to credible electoral services and a stronger democracy. I’m designed to connect with all age groups and communities, whether through a digital post or a handshake at a local event.
Q: Any final message for the people of Fiji?
Feo:
Absolutely! Your vote is your voice, and I’m here to help you use it. Let’s stay connected, stay informed, and shape the future of Fiji together. Vinaka vakalevu—and I can’t wait to meet you all!
